Robyn Rihanna Rihanna - an Barbadian singer-songwriter whose biggest hits include Pon de Replay, SOS Umbrella and Take a Bow. Being a young and successful singer-songwriter she is already one of the top selling artists. Her birthplace was in Barbados and was raised to reggae. As she started to sing, she turned into professional. Unhappy with her chaotic family life and conflicting with her parents, she absorbed herself in music and eventually realized that she wished to become a professional singer. When she was in high school, she started a group of musicians and had the opportunity to meet music producer Evan Rodgers. He was impressed with her talent. The producer asked her to relocate to New York in order to make a career of it as a singer which she readily accepted. Rihanna became an instant hit as her debut album landed on the shelves. The singer was popular among the youth for her peppy, foot-tapping music. This led to Rihanna taking up directing. Being a gifted young lady Rihanna has been recognized as a teenage idol. Rihanna is a good steward of her popularity and is a supporter of many charity causes.
